Medium Sakura Blossoms Vase (Seconds)

Seconds: The vase emerged from the glaze firing with a shallow crack in the bottom of the vase. See photo. The vase remains water-tight. I filled the vase with water and left it to sit overnight, and there was no leakage.

Sweeping sakura blooms adorn this charming vase. Enjoy the delicate beauty all year of sweet cherry blossoms. Fill with fresh flowers, sprigs of greenery, everlasting floral stems, or enjoy as a pretty accent piece in itself.  

I threw this ceramic vase on the wheel in durable stoneware, and once it was bisque fired, I hand-painted petal-pink flowers and brown stems in underglaze before firing it a second time to fuse the pattern to the vase. Finally, I hand-painted a translucent cherry-blossom- pink glaze inside.
