Blue Faceted Tea Cup

Everything tastes better in stoneware, whether it's a morning coffee, a relaxing herbal tea, lunchtime tomato soup or hot cocoa by the fireside. This mug also makes a thoughtful gift for holiday party hosts.

These mugs are thrown and trimmed on the wheel, after which I cut overlapping facets around the lower half of each one. The handles are made from coils which each have a unique imprint. No two cups are the same. I glazed the outside with three coats of blue glaze designed to highlight texture, while the inside is a glossy cobalt blue shade.
