Black Bark Medium Bowl

For gatherings, fill this textured black and white ceramic bowl with side dishes, popcorn, chips, pilafs, pasta salad and more. Or simply enjoy its dark and dramatic vibe as an elegantly rustic home-decor accessory. After throwing this footed bowl on the wheel, I painted a hand-tinted velvety black slip all over the surface, into which I carved a bark texture. Once fired in an electric kiln, I dipped it in a clear glaze for durability and shine.
